What we collect, why we hold it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
The short version: we collect what an order needs and very little else, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other websites.
What we collect
Almost everything we hold about you is something you typed in to complete an order or to manage your account.
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number
- Addresses — the delivery and billing addresses on your orders
- Order information — what you bought, what you paid, and your order's delivery and return history
- Account credentials — your password is stored as a cryptographic hash, never as text we can read
- Payment references — the gateway's reference, amount and status for a payment. We never receive or store your card number, UPI ID, net-banking credentials or CVV
- Return information — the reason you gave, and any photographs you upload in support of a damaged, incorrect or faulty item claim
- Bank details, for Cash on Delivery refunds only — the account holder's name, the IFSC and the account number, given by you at the point of a refund
- Content you submit — reviews and the display name shown against them, and your saved pieces
- Technical information — the usual server records of requests to the site, used to keep it running and secure
Why we hold it
- To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to let you track it
- To handle returns, exchanges and refunds
- To answer you when you contact us
- To keep your account, addresses and saved pieces available to you
- To issue the documents that go with an order, and to keep the records the law requires us to keep
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse of the site
- To send you order updates. Marketing messages, where you have asked for them, can be stopped at any time
Payment information
Online payments are taken by Razorpay, our payment gateway. Your card, UPI, net-banking or wallet details are entered on Razorpay's own checkout and are handled under Razorpay's privacy terms, not ours.
What reaches us is the reference for the payment, the amount and whether it succeeded. That is enough to attach a payment to an order and to refund it, and it is all we want.
Bank details for Cash on Delivery refunds
A Cash on Delivery order has no online payment to reverse, so a refund on one has to be a bank transfer, and a transfer needs an account.
We ask for the minimum a transfer requires: the account holder's name, the IFSC and the account number. Nothing else — no bank name, no branch, no cancelled cheque, no UPI ID.
The account number is stored encrypted, not in readable form. Only the last four digits are held in the clear, so that you and we can confirm the right account without anyone decrypting anything. Access to the full number is restricted and every access is recorded.
How long we keep it
Order records, and the documents issued with them, are kept for as long as tax and company law requires and for as long as a return, a refund or a dispute on the order could still arise.
Account information is kept while your account is open. Ask us to close it and we will, except for the records above, which we are required to retain.
Bank details given for a Cash on Delivery refund are kept for the refund and for the record of the transfer, and are not used for anything else.
How it is protected
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. What we do claim is that the sensitive things either never reach us or are not stored in a form anyone can simply read.
- The site is served over HTTPS, so information in transit is encrypted
- Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes and cannot be read back, by us or by anyone else
- Bank account numbers are encrypted at rest with authenticated AES-256 encryption
- Access to customer data inside the business is restricted by role, and sensitive reveals are logged
- We never receive your card, UPI or net-banking credentials in the first place
Your choices and your rights
You can see and correct most of what we hold from your account: your name, email, phone number and addresses are all editable there, and your orders and returns are listed in full.
You can also ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct something we hold, close your account, or stop sending you marketing messages. Write to us and we will act on it.
Where we cannot act on a request — because a record has to be retained by law — we will tell you which part and why, rather than simply refusing.
Children
This shop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published here and the date at the foot of the page changes with it.
