Payment policy

How you can pay, how we confirm that a payment actually happened, and what we do when one does not go to plan.

One rule sits underneath all of it: an order exists only once our servers have verified the payment with the payment gateway. Nothing your browser reports is taken as proof on its own.

How you can pay

Online payments are handled by Razorpay, our payment gateway. Razorpay presents the methods it supports for your payment — typically UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking and wallets — inside its own secure checkout.

Cash on Delivery is offered on eligible orders. Whether it is available for your order is decided at checkout from the order's value, its delivery PIN code and its contents. Where it is not available, checkout says so and tells you why rather than quietly hiding it.

Every amount is in Indian Rupees. 925Chandi does not accept payment in any other currency, and does not accept cheques, drafts or direct bank transfers against an order.

How your payment details are handled

Card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials and wallet logins are entered on Razorpay's own checkout. They are never sent to, seen by, or stored on our systems. What we hold is the gateway's reference for the payment, its amount and its status.

The storefront is served over HTTPS, and the whole site is sent with a strict transport-security policy so a browser will not fall back to an unencrypted connection.

We will never ask you for a card number, a CVV, a UPI PIN, a net-banking password or an OTP — not by email, not on the phone, and not over chat. If anyone asks you for one in our name, it is not us.

Never share an OTP or a PIN

No genuine member of our team will ever ask for one. An OTP is the last thing standing between a stranger and your money.

Payment and order confirmation

When you pay online, our servers ask the gateway what actually happened. The payment is accepted only if it resolves at the gateway, belongs to this order, is in the right currency, is for exactly the amount we asked for, and has been captured. If any one of those does not match, no order is created.

Once it does match, the order is created and you are taken to a confirmation page carrying the order number. That order appears in your account with its items, its totals and its invoice.

If you refresh the page, tap the button twice, or come back to a completed checkout, you do not get a second order. Order completion is idempotent — the same attempt converges on the same single order.

Failed, cancelled and pending payments

If you close the gateway window, the payment is cancelled. Nothing is charged and your bag is left untouched.

If the payment is declined at the gateway, you are shown the gateway's own reason and can try again with a different method.

If a payment cannot be verified on our side, no order is created — even if your bank showed a debit. That is deliberate: it is safer to create no order and trace the money than to create an order against a payment we could not confirm.

A payment sometimes sits pending at the bank rather than failing outright. If that happens, wait for it to settle before trying again, and contact us if an order has still not appeared.

Money debited but no order, or debited twice

Please do not pay a second time. A debit without an order is almost always one of two things: an amount that was authorised but never captured, which your bank releases on its own, or a captured payment we have not been able to match, which we refund.

Send us your order attempt's payment reference — the transaction ID from your bank or from the gateway's message — along with the date, the amount and the email address you used. We will trace it with the gateway and either complete the order or return the money to the source it came from.

The same applies to a genuine double debit: the duplicate is refunded to the method it was taken from.

Prices, totals and tax

Every total — item prices, discounts, delivery and the final payable amount — is calculated by our servers, not by your browser. The amount shown in the checkout summary is the amount that will be charged.

Prices are in Indian Rupees. Where tax applies to your order it is itemised in your order summary and on the document issued with your order.

Prices and offers can change, and a piece can sell out. The price that applies to your order is the one shown at the moment you pay.

Cash on Delivery

A Cash on Delivery order is placed unpaid. You pay the courier when the parcel arrives, and the amount due is the order total shown at checkout.

Cash on Delivery is a facility rather than a right. It is offered per order, and it can be unavailable because of the order's value, its delivery PIN code or its contents. Checkout always gives the reason.

Because nothing was paid online, a Cash on Delivery order has no payment to reverse. Where a refund becomes due on one — after a return, for instance — it is made by bank transfer to an account you supply at that point.

Refunds

A refund always goes back the way the money came: an online payment is refunded to the method it was paid with, and a Cash on Delivery order is refunded by bank transfer to the account you give us.

We cannot refund to a different card, account or wallet from the one used, and we do not issue store credit or vouchers in place of a refund.

Once we initiate a refund, how quickly it reaches you is down to your bank or card issuer. We record the date it left our side, and it is shown on the return in your account.

What triggers a refund, and when, is set out in the Return and refund policy and the Cancellation policy.

If a payment problem is not resolved

Start with us. Almost every payment question is a matter of matching a transaction reference to an order, and that is quicker for us to do than for anyone else.

Complaints are handled through our customer care channels. Write to [email protected] or call +91 00000 00000 (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm IST). Please include your order number and a description of what went wrong, and we will look into it and come back to you.

Still need help?

If anything about a payment is unclear, or your situation is not covered here, please get in touch before you act on an assumption — it is almost always quicker to ask.
